Moving Voice & VI Reception

This workshop focuses on the alignment of the body with its vocal potential. The morning will be a master teaching with Gerry Trentham, Cindy Block and Diane Roberts in individual/collective sound and movement practices that ground the speaker in public and assist in voice and body alignment that encourages a compelling presence. The afternoon will be a master teaching with David Smukler in practices on voice clarity and breath/body work that creates an authentic moving voice and vocal presence.

Engage. Embody. Explore.   

This program is intended for those seeking to examine the foundations of voice and body, as well as those who wish to extend and deepen their personal practice in a dynamic and supportive atmosphere.   The four week programme allows for extended time to engage in personal research and embody discoveries through performance, culminating in an integrated practice.

A background in Shakespeare is not necessary. Nor is it required that English be your language of origin. The Voice Intensive invites and honours people of all nationalities and cultural backgrounds.

May 22 to June 10, 2017

Reflect. Reawaken. Reactivate.

This advanced program is intended for Voice Intensive alumni and advanced professionals and educators. Offering a supportive environment, participants identify and address individual voice and acting challenges. Emphasis is placed on encouraging personal agency in all aspects of the work. Primary focus on text and performance will be realized through the application of voice and movement principles and practices.

A background in Shakespeare is not necessary. Nor is it required that English be your language of origin. The Voice Intensive invites and honours people of all nationalities and cultural backgrounds.
